Test account in PayLane’s system

About our test account

To accept internet payments using PayLane, the first step is to create a test account. From a Merchants point of view, this account is crucial in the process of integrating with the system. It also serves as the first stage in collecting documents and information, needed to create a production account.

Creating a test account is really easy and it requires filling in 3 fields in a form (Company name, user name, e-mail address). After turning in the form, information containing all the needed data to access the Merchant Panel, API integration, and the Secure Form, will be sent to the e-mail address that you’ve provided.

The capacity of a test account

This account gives you the ability to carry out a trial transaction using any given payment method with any result, for example: based on a test credit card number, it’s possible to simulate a successful transaction or an error in a transaction of different cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro).

Within the PayLane system, test accounts behave just like production accounts. The only difference is that with a test account, no actual money is being processed.

I already have a production account, do I need a test one too?

The answer is – YES. A testing account in PayLane is always active. This is to ensure that the application is working properly. Any change that was created in the code within a client’s system, should be tested using the test account, in a situation where transactions are done using the production account (with this change in the code), every transaction carried out using test card numbers is rejected.

Start using your test account and run different trials with this new information! If you have any questions give us a shout or find us on Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn.

Wojtek is a pretty tall guy (2 meters / 6.56 feet) and doesn't talk much, so sometimes people think he looks down on them not only literally. But if you spend some time with him, you'll find out he's a really friendly person with a great sense of humor. Though still, at work (besides joking) he usually writes his code, sitting in the corner of the room with headphones on.
